Radiochemicals
Description
Yttrium-90 is a medically significant isotope of Yttrium, emitting beta rays of 2.3 MeV. Y-90 is a decay product of Strontium-90, which represents about 5% of the Nuclear daughter isotopes when Uranium is fissioned. Y-90 is thus produced by chemical high-purity separation from strontium-90 following fission of Uranium in Nuclear Reactors.
