(isoSolutions), an innovative one stop shop when it comes to nuclear medicine products has joined a growing list of organizations as members of the Canadian Nuclear Isotope Council (CNIC) an independent body made up of representatives from the Canadian health sector, nuclear industry and leading research groups, convened to promote Canada’s role in the production of the world’s supply of radioisotopes.

isoSolutions was very pleased to welcome to its Vancouver office a visitor from the Abetavu children’s home in Uganda. Abetavu is a charity that isoSolutions has supported for several years. Our visitor from Abetavu – Ms. Tinah Praise – entered the Abetavu home in Uganda when she was 9 year old. She is now entering her second year of college in Kabale, Uganda.

Abetavu is an organization that started as an orphanage, founded by a Vancouver woman, Carli Travers, and her Ugandan husband Robert, nearly ten years ago. It is now so much more than an orphanage. Abetavu provides a safe haven to children that need support, and it provides essential services to the local community, in terms of counseling, education, sports, and many other services. Tinah is so grateful for having a chance at an education, something none of her other ten siblings were able to have. (more…)

Mr. Gabriel Freitas has been appointed as the Customer Service Manager for isoSolutions.¬† This new position provides general administrative support to the team, with primary responsibility for customer and supplier support. The main responsibilities of this position are to maintain the order desk and customer support.The Customer Service Manager will prepare quotations; receive, enter, acknowledge and distribute purchase orders and invoices; check and distribute shipping documents; process order changes; and correspond with suppliers, customers and sales managers regarding orders and new product requests. Other duties will include organizing tradeshows and logistics for tradeshows; coordinating website maintenance; preparing and distributing newsletters; managing promotional brochures; and assisting with staff training programs. “Vancouver, BC ‚Äì The Western Region Society of Nuclear Medicine (WRSNM) will honor Dr. Fran√ßois B√©nard from the BC Cancer Agency with the presentation of their Distinguished Scientist Award. … Dr. B√©nard is the Vice President, Research at the BC Cancer Agency, a Distinguished Scientist at the BC Cancer Agency Research Centre and Professor in the Department of Radiology at the University of British Columbia. He is also Associate Dean, Research at the University of British Columbia. In addition he holds the BC Leadership Chair in Functional Cancer Imaging. As a clinician scientist, his research interests are in positron emission tomography (PET), nuclear medicine, cancer imaging and targeted radionuclide therapy. (more…)

Using equipment supplied by isoSolutions, researchers at four Canadian facilities announced success in the production of Technetium-99m, the workhorse of nuclear medicine, in medical cyclotrons. An interdisciplinary team made up of researchers from TRIUMF, the BC Cancer Agency, the Centre for Probe Development and Commercialization, and Lawson Health Research Institute announced their findings at triumf.ca.

These four research institutions are customers of isoSolutions and the development of this production process was performed on Trasis Mini-All-in-One Automated Synthesis Modules. The Mini-AIO is an automated instrument dedicated to the labeling of tracers with short life-time radioactive isotopes used in diagnostics and therapeutics. It addresses the needs of pharmaceutical production centers as well as of hospitals and research centers. Trasis All-in-One modules are distributed in Canada and Latin America by isoSolutions.
